Ipswich Town are set to sign Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano. The well-known and well-respected Italian journalist has claimed that Phillips will join Ipswich on loan for next season.
Romano wrote on : “Kalvin Phillips to Ipswich Town, here we go! Deal sealed between clubs as Phillips’ set for medical tests.
“Loan move from Manchester City does not include a buy option clause, per initial agreement. Phillips ready to sign later today if all goes to plan.”
Phillips has been on the books of City since the summer of 2022 when he joined from Leeds United. The 28-year-old defensive midfielder has failed to make a huge impact at City and had a disappointing loan spell at West Ham United last season.
Ipswich will play in the Premier League this campaign after winning promotion from the Championship at the end of the last campaign. Phillips has scored one goal and given three assists in 73 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
